On a personal note
Dan Smith (Secretary General of International Alert) tells of how he first got involved in peace activisim and research. In the face of the often sombre peacebuilding record of the past decades, Mr Smith maintains hopeful about the progress that is being made and is inspired by the people that are working for peace.
On September 13th, Dan Smith (Secretary General of International Alert) spoke at the ‘Peace and Power’-conference at the University of Manchester. Bruno Braak interviewed him the next day on the current crisis in Syria, the response to chemical weapons use and his views vis-à-vis intervention.
