Syria: intervention or diplomacy?
Abiodun Williams (President of The Hague Institute for Global Justice) reflects on the crisis in Syria and a possible humanitarian intervention. He also shares his take on the recent diplomatic progress between Russia and the US. When asked whether the Assad regime simply buying time by promissing to depose of its chemical weapons, Mr Williams argues that ‘you never know’ but that in his view diplomatic engagement with a view of disarming the Assad regime of its chemical weapons should be pursued vigorously.
On 25 September 2013 Dr Williams was interviewed at the Institute in the Hague by Bruno Braak.
